Attachment category

An attachment category controls the security of attachments in your application. It restricts user operations on an attachment, based on privileges, when conditions, or attachment types.

Unlike attachment types that define the format of an attachment, attachment categories represent business classifications, such as Expense reports or Human Resource documents. Users select an attachment category each time that they add an attachment to work in your application.

Access control

Attachment categories apply to different attachment types in your application. When configured, they can restrict the following user operations for a specific attachment type:

You can further refine restrictions by using privileges, when conditions, and required work groups. Updates to an attachment category take effect immediately and are applied to all unresolved work in your application.
